Have I shared my secret for naming patterns? Street names. If I had only a street map of Jacksonville, I would have names for all the patterns I could ever design. Dugdale is one such street name. To me it just screams little dude in something cute.
It’s kind of a little old man sort of sweater. I can almost see a little guy wearing it for Halloween and hollering, “You kids get off my lawn!” With a cane to shake. See how the buttons make the look? I got these at Joann’s – so they are widely available.
The Dugdale Sweater is knitted up in the softest machine washable blend – Vintage by Berrocco. And it’s available in the newest issue of KnitCircus – the 2011 Gifts Issue.
But it gets better. The Dugdale Sweater has a matching blanket!
It’s worked up in the same squishy chevron and rib pattern with garter edges so the blanket is completely reversible. It’s also made out of Berrocco Vintage, which is as soft as can be for little ones, but washes like a dream, and wears like iron.
Did I already use the phrase “it gets better”? I did, didn’t I? Hmm. I need a bigger phrase, a wow, a woo-hoo kind of phrase. Can I just holler contest? Because knitters surely like a contest. Well anyhow, here’s the little contest.
Because KnitCircus is awesome, I have some issues to give away. And all you have to do to be entered in the drawing is comment. But you have to answer my silly question. And the question is… What is your quest?!?!?!
No really. The real question is… What is your favorite Halloween candy? The drawing will take place Monday morning, 10/17. So comment away and enter to win a free e-copy of the KnitCircus Gifts Issue. You know you wanna!
What an adorable sweater! My nephew would look so stinkin cute in this 😀
My favorite Halloween candy would have to be either KitKats or the MnMs in the little baggies. The treat sized candies are better than full size because then you don’t feel guilty eating them (unless you eat a half dozen as I’m prone to). This is a sweet little sweater and thanks for the giveaway!
My favorite halloween candy are those miniature Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. Mmmmmm
My favorite halloween candy is candy corn! I love the pictures of your pattern. He’s adorable!
Very cute sweater and blankie! My favorite candy is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Thanks for the chance to win!
I just love candy corn – even tho I know the sugar content.
Candy corn hands down! Great sweater and really cute little guy.
Those caramel things with the white center. I don’t buy them so I don’t know what they’re called! We have them at our church festival every year. Someone always brings them ( thank you whoever you are! ).
My favorite Halloween candy is tootsie rolls. They’re a simple candy, but I never eat them at any other time of year. LOVE ‘EM!
I’m in the process of making a baby blanket that I frogged three times before deciding on a pattern. I love the pattern I’m doing, but this one would have been far more fun!
Funny, but I think my favorite Halloween candy are my pumpkin truffles! I enjoy this holiday because as a chocolatier I always give out goodies I made-and accompanying parents get a truffle! I have been told by kids of all ages-including parents that my house is their favorite to come trick-or-treating to. Life if good!Just came across a pattern of yours-simply lovely, joined your group and am going to buy your latest E-Book once I leave here!
Good luck in your new house-its where you hang your heart 🙂
Sugar Babies!!! Love this pattern, seems all my knitting is for friends” babies and kids, lately. This will be great or Florida winters
Mmm. Those tiny little KitKats. I wonder if they have miniaturized the dark choclate KitKats yet? Those are my favorite hands down!
Add me to the candy corn folks. Sugar high in one small bite! It’s a great sweater – it has a classic, vintage-y feel to me. The blanket looks very squishable and comfy. Thanks for the opportunity!
What great patterns! My fave halloween candy is candy corn.
my quest? happy kids. 😉
Hard to narrow my favorite down to just one! But if I was forced to choose just one, I’d have to pick a Baby Ruth. I love the minis….
SweeTarts! Usually I only eat chocolate candy, but Halloween I get the mixed bags of candy for the kids, and keep some sweetarts for myself…LOL
That’s a tough question, since my usual candy favorites aren’t generally halloween give-aways. So I’ll have to go with the old standard of peanut butter cups. Yum!
I love chewy sweet tarts. Seems like I can only find them at Halloween.
Those are gorgeous! My favorite Halloween candy is Reese’s peanut butter pumpkins. So much peanut buttery goodness!
My favorite Halloween candy… almost anything that’s dark chocolate, mmmmmm
Without a doubt, Smarties are my favorite!
I love candy corns!!!
I think my fave Halloween candy would be the little mini kitkats!
Mini Snickers! All the yummy, one third the calories (if I stop at one anyway) Love the sweater too.
Candy corns, one layer at a time!
Love both and now that I have a baby to knit for would love to knit both.
