Y’all. Really? I am appalled, shocked, and saddened by the number of folks that have not seen Steel Magnolias. Really? This movie is so quotable and so moving and so funny – really? You haven’t seen it? I have to rectify this situation. Right. Now.
So we have an emergency Boobie Blitz prize. Actually we have two. The fact that this movie was available in the $5 movie section makes me wanna cry. But that means you have two, two chances to win the movie. And then you can watch it. And love it. And cry the ugly cry over it. And then watch it a few more times so you can be adept at quoting it when the situation is appropriate. And quoting it when it’s totally inappropriate.
And if you have a bunch of friends that haven’t seen it – have a party – invite them over – share the love. So comment if you need this movie. And if you don’t win, and you haven’t seen it, go to Target or Wal-Mart or something and buy it for $5. Please. I’m begging you.

I don’t own it but have seen it tons of time almost as often as Princess Bride. I might have to see if I can get it if I don’t win. Thanks
I’ve seen it twice in the last few weeks. I saw it a few times when it first came out too. It’s hard at the end, reminds me of my Mom, but when I need a good cry, I watch it. It helps 🙂
A movie everyone should watch. A movie of love and support. A library must have.
I haven’t watched this movie for about 5 years. It used to be my go to crying movies (along with Beaches), but 10 years ago we moved into our own home and I got rid of all the VHS tapes, Steel Magnolias, being one of them. Needless to say, I am in need to see this movie again and own my own copy.
I give this movie a 5 kleenex box rating. Meaning, you’ll go through about 5 boxes of kleenex watching it. The cast in this movie is fantastic…come on, who doesn’t LOVE Dolly?!

I love $5 movies….. there were whole decades of movies I missed when raising my kids, and most of them end up in the $5 movie bin. Now that I am an empty nester, I might finally get caught up.
I feel like I’ve really been missing out on something… I’m not sure what to think of the cover, but you shouldn’t judge a movie by its cover or something like that…
