I have a love/hate relationship with the carline. Oh you don’t know the carline? The carline is where I go to pick the boys up from school and sit in my car for upwards of a half an hour, while I wait for people who can’t follow traffic patterns, and kids who are too busy goofing off to realize that their mom is right there waiting for them if they would just get in the car already and go home! Sorry, that was a bit of a run-on sentence of the hate.
I do get to listen to blissfully uninterrupted chunks of NPR though, and it’s a great time to knit a few rows on my latest project. Oh and the light on the front seat of my car while I wait? Perfect for getting true color pictures.
In other news, I’m trying desperately to love the boys’ new school, but they certainly aren’t making it easy. Today I got the stink-eye because the big dude forgot his English book and had to be let back in. Well excuuuuuse me. Maybe you’re perfect. But my 10 year old is in a brand new school and this is the first time he’s ever had to bring a textbook home. And it’s the third freaking day of school. Cut me a break. Or better yet, break a smile. It’s good for you. It won’t hurt. I promise.
Little dude figured out how to add glowing lightsabers and blast effects to his stop motion animation stills. No matter what, my kids rock.
