Longfellow-Cover
I had a photo shoot this evening for Longfellow. The park I wanted to shoot in was closed, so I had to make due with something slightly different. But I’m happy with the pictures I got, and I think the distressed wood and fences makes a nice backdrop. I need the day to have about three times as many hours as it does. That way I would have time to wear all the hats I need to wear to run this business. Either that or I need to make so much money I can afford to hire folks to do all the other things!

Longfellow-Top-Edge

Longfellow starts out a little differently. I asked myself a what if question about the cast-on and surprisingly enough, it totally worked. That cast-on up there? It’s a long-tail. Just a long-tail cast-on using larger needles. It’s the simple thing you do in the next row that makes it all gorgeous like that!

Longfellow-Full

Longfellow is shaped using stockinette short-rows to really show off the gorgeous color and stitch definition of the Mithril yarn. By the way, Mithril is a seasonal yarn. And you really shouldn’t miss out on working with it! So quick like a bunny order yourself some. The colorway I used is La Cantante – and the Verdant Gryphon describes it as a “cinnamon flecked pumpkin” color. Such a perfect color and description. I wish I had a way with descriptions like that!

Longfellow-Lace-Detail

The shawl is finished off with crochet bind-off, and the crochet hook comes in handy for working those little “star” stitches you see. This is the second of the Seven Sonnets and is available for purchase individually or as part of the collection. Five more patterns will be released for the collection, and I’ve got some lovely yarns lined up for those too!
