Everytime I work with a new color of Baah! yarn I decide that color is my favorite. Of course my two favorite colors are turquoise and red, so I was done for with this one.
Maldives is a perfect icy turquoise. Just lovely and full of depth. It really shows the lace patterning and little cables in Montadale to their best effect.
Montadale is worked from the top down with one skein of La Jolla on size 6 needles. Increases are worked on both ends and in pattern in the center to make a shallow crescent shaped shawl – 16″ deep and 60″ wide. But it’s super simple to make Montadale bigger if you like. I’ll be doing a blog entry on how to do just that early next week!
Stitch markers help with this one – if only just to offset the center section. And if you need a cable needle grab one, although the small, frequent cables in this design are a perfect opportunity to learn to cable without a cable needle. Look for that lesson on the next Tutorial Tuesday!
Montadale is available today only for 25% off as an introductory price. Although the best bang for you buck is to buy the Seven Sheep – 7 patterns for only $21.95. If you love Baah! as much as I do, they are must knits. Of course if you don’t love Baah!, you probably haven’t knit with it yet!

absolutely beautiful, both pattern and yarn but mostly the knitting. I too have a soft spot for turquoise and this one is just lovely.
