Pink is my signature color

“The sanctuary looks like it’s been hosed down with Pepto Bismol”

I think Mondays might be the worst. But today is Tuesday and I have decided that it has to be better. So let’s review. Fund-raising is going well – I finally passed the $1000 mark all official like – but I still have miles to go before I sleep. So…

Donate * Buy T-Shirts * Buy Patterns * Spread the Love!

All donations are tax deductible. All proceeds from the t-shirt sale pre-orders will go to support our team. And all pattern proceeds from October 1st-7th will be going to help me reach my fundraising goal. And to spread the love all you have to do is let others know what I’m trying to do here – it’s a good thing, you know?

Today’s Boobie Blitz prize is actually yarn that I got for an October pink shawl many moons ago. I was trying to find just the right pink and this was one of the contenders. I held onto it for awhile, trying to decide what it wanted to be. But then I found the Malabrigo Light of Love when I was on vacation and that was all she wrote.  So this poor yarn has been sitting forlorn and neglected. Give it a good home and make something pretty out of it, won’t you? Today’s prize is one skein of Madeline Tosh Sock and my Kyveli pattern to go with it.

To be entered into the drawing, all you have to do is comment. The question of the day today is… who is your favorite Steel Magnolias character? Who do you identify with?

You haven’t seen it?!?!?!!? Grab a box of tissues, watch it,  and get back to me later with you comment! No, really. All you have to do is comment to be entered! And don’t forget all prize drawings will take place on Friday, October 8th, so make sure you get all your comments in before then!

I may not be Ouiser but I want to be her when I get old, like she said, “a ditry mind is a terrible thing to waste”!

I think I liked the Dolly Parton character the best, she provided a place for this women to be together talk, laugh, bitch, cry etc. and wanted to make them all look beautiful, she also listened to each of them.
It is a really tear fest movie but boy they were some really strong women.

ooooh…what a great clip! Shelby is my favorite because I guess I can kind of relate to her the most…although as my children get older, I suppose I might find myself relating to her mom.

Shelby. Pink IS my signature culah. If I wasn’t married, I’m afraid I might actually have a pink house.

I like the character of Clarece. All of the actresses did a great job in this movie, Julia Roberts, Sally Fields, Dolly Parton, Ouiser and Clarece. I love this movie. It is a tear jerker everytime I watch it.

I *love* that movie! In fact, one of my very best online friends and I always tell each other “It’s a good thing I love you more than my luggage” lol I like Ouiser because “if you can’t say something nice, well then come sit next to me” 🙂 I think I might have to watch this movie again after we move and are settled in the new house. Lease signed yesterday, keys this afternoon! WOOHOO!

Ouiser. I’ll be a foul-mouthed old lady who doesn’t give a rip about what anyone else thinks.

I LOVE this movie and all the characters. I think my favorite might be Clarese, though. I do love Truvy, too. It’s hard to choose!

Ouiser. I am foul mouth and outspoken now. I seriously doubt that will change. 🙂

I love all the characters it is hard to pick just one! They are all such tough women but I would say Clarese is probably my fav and the one I identify with the most although, Truvy takes a close 2nd.

I love this movie! When I need a good cry this is my go to movie. I would like to think I’m most like Truvy..welcoming, a good listener, accepting, a good friend, you know, all those things we want to be. When I grow up, I want to be Ouiser Boudreaux, who’s not afraid to tell it like it is!

I love Clarice and want to be her when I grow up but I think I will probably be Ouiser. I love that movie! I watch it every time it is on and still cry when they turn off the machines and the funeral.

One of my favorite all time movies. I guess I would have to say Ousier. She is so full of spunk – well they all are but Ouiser has my heart- funny I thought it would be spelled Weezer. Thanks to everyone that spelled it before me. I love the funny moments that help us through the sad ones. A true picture of living life in spite of death.

I relate to Shelby. So brave and grasped at life the best way she could. She made choices in her life to give life despite what could follow.

Ok, this is weird. I wore my shawl (that one in the picture!) on Monday!! I got so many compliments on it. The design is beautiful. Must knit another sometime. It would be lovely in pink.

Oh, Truvy…hands down! I have big, open ears. What a great inspiration that movie is, and sometimes you just need to “let it all out” with a box of tissues and a bowl of popcorn. I find myself doing this once a month at least, and I watched this movie in a girl movie fest just a month ago!

Oh my, its been years since I’ve boohood watching that movie. Unfortunately, my brain does not store movie lines well. Maybe because I don’t watch them very often!! I did love the movie, but hubby is not a chick flick fan!

Believe it or not, I’ve never sit down and seen the whole thing from beginning to end. I’ve see snippets throughout the years, but have never caught the whole movie. Sounds like a plan for the weekend – I’m sure it’s on cable somewhere!

For sure Shirley MacLaine as Ouiser! You certainly need a large box of kleenex to watch this movie!
