Three is a magic number

All is right with the world today. We’re planning some nice family outings, the sun is shining, my friend’s brand new baby is healthy and gorgeous, and my fundraising boobie blitz is working!

Donate * T-Shirts * Patterns

Today is a prize for the non-knitters. Today’s prize is a drawing for one of the Ta-Ta’s Are Sacred T-Shirts. You can choose pink or white in a ladies cut, or white or grey in a unisex cut. This prize will not be shipped out for a couple of weeks when the t-shirt pre-ordering process is complete. For complete details on the tees, including sizing information, see this post.

For today’s giveaway I need to know… have you checked your ta-tas yet this month? And if you’re a boy, have you lovingly reminded the women in your life to check theirs?

This is something that I really need to think about more often. I don’t pay my boobs much attention at all. I’m still breastfeeding Tiddler so that can sometimes make it tricky to feel if anything’s going on that’s different to normal.

Ummm yes this month and last month and a hell of a lot in August when I went to the doctor for the mystery lump. However, the mystery lump scar still hurts when I push on it and the mystery lump is still there and still a mystery. Just now we know it isn’t a bad mystery. It’s just an “only in my world” mystery.

No I haven’t. Will do tonight! I need to pick a day to do it since I no longer have a cycle to go by. Better yet – I should have my phone remind me. It tells me what to do every day anyway. 🙂

Not yet. I normally do it the first or second saturday of the month, so I will be doing it this coming saturday. I always have a spa night on Saturday (1st or 2nd of month) and checking my ta-tas is part of the routine.

I check monthly! Sometimes even twice a month (your breasts change throughout your cycle) 🙂 And it is also important to note that men also can develop breast cancer. It is much more rare, but it does happen! So men, you check yourselves too! It is also important to note that Only 5% to 10% of breast cancers occur in women with a clearly defined genetic predisposition for the disease. The majority of breast cancer cases are “sporadic,” meaning there is no direct family history of the disease. The risk for developing breast cancer increases as a woman ages.

I am scheduled for my annual this month and try to check as often as possible. Being familiar with how things should feel is so important. Knowing my ta tas is like singing to “Oh my papa” on a weekly basis.

The girls have indeed been checked. I did it laying down like they suggested and mu huby asked what took me so long to get dressed and I told him, I think he was dissapointed I didn’t ask for his assistance! Lol

I have had my fair share of ta ta checking this year in January went to the emergency room with chronic mastitis and the doctor found a 4 cm lump took 7 months and three canceled surgeries before they finally removed the lump after sticking a very long needle in the lump so they could find it. it turned out just to be a non cancerous sarcoma a cyst and an abscess.

Not yet, but I will. Had a non-cancerous lump removed about 15 years ago, so I am pretty good about my mammograms and checking.

Yup, all checked – and had a doctor’s appointment just last month, which, while not preventing future problems, is reassuring that things are well at the moment.Thank you for what you’re doing.
