Many moons again I had a website theme that I loved. (Ok the logo was amateur time but I loved it anyhow.) But then something bad happened. I killed my website. And there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth. The theme I had used for my site had been updated into a brand new version. So I ponied up the cashola thinking I could recreate my site on this new platform.
I was wrong.
I have limited CSS skills. I’m learning more everyday, but I definitely did not have enough to make that theme do what I wanted it to do. I even watched hours of youtube tutorials only to find that the version they were working was not quite the same as mine and therefore lots of the tricks I needed just didn’t work.
I finally had to admit to myself that I needed a new theme. A theme that was closer to what I needed that I could tweak to use my fonts and my colors and it would be branding for me! And cross your fingers I think I’ve found it. Today has been a long day of coding, testing, recoding, working in test environments, accidentally jacking up the live environment (yikes!!!) but I’m ready to put this puppy to bed. I think. Well maybe after I get my 180+ patterns into a portfolio. Yes, I’m insane. Also my back hurts from not leaving my chair all day except to you know…
So what do you think?
Looks great!
Looks great…but I do kinda miss the Auntie Mame reference.
